Prof. Alain Bernard was awarded as the Honorary Professor of NUAA on November 15th in 604 room of CEM Building. Zhang Yicha, associate professor of Université de technologie de Belfort Montbéliard (UTBM), Zhang Zhuo, Director of International Cooperation Office of NUAA, Shen Min, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Office, Gu Dongdong, Deputy Director of Department of Basic Scientific Research and Humanities and Social Sciences, Institute of Science and Technology, Jiao Hongtu, Secretary of the Party Committee of College of Economics and Management, Professor Liu Sifeng, Professor Xie Naiming and other representatives of teachers and students attended the awarding ceremony.

Jiao Hongtu hosted the awarding ceremony. She expressed warm welcome to all the attendees and announced that the ceremony officially begins. Zhang Zhuo made a brief introduction of Prof. Alain Bernard, from his education background, work experience, to the key scientific research achievements in manufacturing engineering and other various honors.

Zhang Zhuo awarded Prof. Alain Bernard the Honorary Professor Certificate and wore the university badge for him.

Professor Alain Bernard said it is his honored to be awarded as honored professor of NUAA and expressed the wish for deepen the cooperation between NUAA and École Centrale Nantes. He proposed that the two sides could build “Grey Data Analysis and Production Service System Joint Research Center”, as well as student exchange and faculty visiting. Zhang Zhuo hoped to take this opportunity to strengthen intercollegiate relationship and promote cooperation in scientific research, teaching skills and other academic activities.

Alain Bernard is a world-renowned scientist in Europe. He is now the professor of École Centrale Nantes, and is the academician of French Academy of Engineering. He has been engaged in fields of manufacturing engineering, industrial and system engineering, intelligent decision-making. He has published hundreds of papers in top international journals. In the past three years, he presided over the EU Horizon Project and the French Academy of Sciences industrial project with a total funding of more than 60 million euros.

Awarding Alain Bernard as an honorary professor will contribute to the development of management science and engineering, industrial engineering, system engineering and other disciplines of NUAA. It will promote the international popularity of NUAA in Europe.
